Brother Thaddeus Hill, O.S.F.

Brother Thaddeus, baptized Thomas McMullan Hill, was born on January 17, 1904 in Glasgow, Scotland and educated there. Before immigrating to the United States in 1932, he worked as a miner in Wales and a seaman. Brother Thaddeus entered the Congregation on October 4, 1928, received the habit on May 13, 1929, and was professed on May 30, 1930. From the time of his profession he taught only briefly at St. Francis Xavier's school. His life was spent as a carpenter-mechanic and supervisor of maintenance in the schools and houses of the Congregation. Following a long illness, Brother Thaddeus died March 27, 1972 at the age of 68. He donated his eyes and heart to medical science through the administration of St. Francis College.
