Brother Ivo Rochfort, O.S.F.
Brother Ivo (Thomas Rochfort), a native of Galway, was admitted to St. Francis Monastery on December 19, 1887. On August 2, 1888, he received the Habit and on August 2, 1889 pronounced his vows. Having completed his university courses in Ireland and England prior to his coming to Brooklyn, Brother Ivo, a Doctor of Philosophy was assigned to St. Francis College, where from 1889 to 1906 he taught philosophy, ancient and modern foreign languages, and aesthetics. Brother No also served the Congregation as General Consultor. On January 15, 1906, the Congregation suffered a great loss by the unexpected death of this exemplary religious.
