Brother Cyprian O'Bierne, O.S.F.
Brother Cyprian O'Beirne, having been an Irish Schoolmaster for many years, entered the Clifden Monastery and received the Habit on May 15, 1851. His profession took place one year later. In the year 1860 he joined the pioneer Brothers in Brooklyn. He was assigned to old St. Paul's School in the basement of the church. Two years later he was elected Superior of the Congregation, but after one year in office begged to be relieved of this responsibility. He later served as a General Consultor. The other schools in which Brother taught were St. Michael's in Flushing, and the Immaculate Conception School on Maujer Street. After eighteen years of zealous pioneering, Brother Cyprian departed this life on March 15, 1878.
