Brother Vincent Mulcahy, O.S.F.

Brother Vincent (Patrick Mulcahy), a brilliant young Irish scholar from Limerick, entered St. Francis Monastery on March 18, 1885. On October 7th of the same year he received the Habit and was professed on October 10, 1886. Already a trained teacher, Brother Vincent was assigned to St. Patrick's Academy. Later he served in St. Charles', St. Vincent de Paul's, St. Francis Preparatory and College. At various times he was Dean and President of the College. During his religious career Brother Vincent also held the following important posts: Assistant Master of Novices, Master of Brothers in Temporary Vows, General Consultor, Treasurer General, Secretary General, Assistant Superior General and Superior General. In 1923 he was assigned to establish the Juniorate of our Community. Brother Vincent's death on March 15, 1943 brought to a close a long and zealous religious life spent entirely for the welfare of the Congregation.
