Monday of the Fourth Week of Advent

2Sm 7:1-5, 8-12, 14, 16; Ps 89:2-3, 4-5, 27, 29; Lk 1:67-79

Good Morning, I really cannot believe that it is Christmas Eve and that means Advent is coming to an end and the Savior will arrive very shortly. I can’t help but think of my childhood memories that surrounded the Christmas Season, especially Christmas Eve. Our home was just rather hectic on Christmas Eve, last minute preparations, last minute gift ideas, getting ready for Christmas Eve dinner and of course, Mass and the beautiful pageantry of the school choir at this Most Solemn Midnight Mass.Today’s readings speak of the readiness for the coming of the Lord, the promises made to us by our Creator and our willingness to be a small part of this wondrous Incarnation. As I reflect on these readings, I am filled with such peace and comfort. I realize that God in His Infinite Wisdom is doing something special just for me, that might sound selfish but like a child with the magic of Christmas and wanting that special gift, I feel as though Jesus is that Special Gift coming for me this year. So now, I hope to be just like Zachariah and sing the praises of all that is promised to us.

Merry Christmas!!!
