Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God

Nm 6:22-27; Ps 67:2-3, 5, 6, 8; Gal 4:4-7; Lk 2:16-21

We are often encouraged to place our trust in God. Rightly so…but as I ponder today’s readings, I am struck by how much God trusts us to share in His work. Although abundantly generous, God does not do it all for us–but rather with and through human cooperation. We are called to bless each other, to be God’s children and heirs, to give birth to and seek the living God in family circumstances. And in doing so, we come full circle to return the glory and praise back to God like the shepherds or hold these things in our heart as Mary did.

What a dynamic relationship God seeks with us! How is God calling me to participate…entrusting me to co-create with Him? May I be open to hearing the invitation and have the courage and grace to respond to God’s trust in me to respond with thanks and praise.
